As record floods swallowed large parts of Sydney earlier this year, the NSW Police Aviation Command was tasked with helping to search for and rescue those stranded. In the space of only two hours on March 23, 2021, the crew of PolAir 5 rescued 15 people trapped by the floods, in one the busiest days for the Command this year. Among those stranded was a 41-year-old man, trapped on the roof of his home by rising flood water in Pitt Town Bottoms, in Sydney’s north west. | NSW Police Force

Westpac Life Saver Rescue crew were activated today by NSW SES - Mid North Coast to rescue a female isolated by rising floodwaters near Wingham. She was treated for hypothermia but is otherwise ok.
